This week we’re proud to be a part of Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week (2nd-8th May). Hosted by the Perinatal Mental Health Partnership UK (which Bluebell is a member of), the week-long campaign has been dedicated to raising awareness of perinatal mental health amongst the public and health professionals since 2017.
This week they will be highlighting the power of connection by shining a light on the support available across the UK. At Bluebell, we support parents' mental health and wellbeing during pregnancy, birth and beyond and feel honoured to have connected with thousands of families over the last decade.
Over the years, staff and parents have left messages on our bathroom mirror at our Bristol hub, Bluebell Place. Messages of hope, encouragement and support – letting others know that they’re not alone.
Repeated frequently, positive affirmations are known to encourage happy feelings and thoughts. So, in collaboration with Sunshine for Breakfast, we have brought some of these messages to life as free to download postcards. There are five designs available to brighten someone’s day, pop on your fridge as a positive daily reminder or share on social media to connect with others.
We’d love for these to be shared as widely as possible. By talking openly about perinatal mental health, we can change attitudes and forge connections that will help parents access the information and support they need.
You can choose your favourite and download here. Don’t forget to connect with us using the hashtag #SunshineThoughts
We made these postcards free to download so they were accessible to as many people as possible. But the amazing work we provide to parents just wouldn’t be possible without our loyal funders and supporters, so if you are able to make a small donation you can do so via our JustGiving page. We really appreciate every single penny – thank you.
